Banana & Orange Smoothie

Hmm, yummy! I can still remember sipping my cold banana & orange smoothie on a hot summer afternoon last week. What a way to enjoy the summer days. Relaxing with family on weekends, whether by setting up the paddling pool for the kids or by having a quiet picnic in the garden. All I know is that summertime is great, not to say that other seasons are bad, though :). It’s just that waking up on a bright day with the sun already up and shining its glory on the earth is truly great. All of a sudden, you have the energy to do so many things, the yearn to try out recipes such as this one that would immediately give you the sense of being on holiday even though, you’re just right in your sitting room :).

Okay, let’s get right to it. That is me stopping myself from thinking too much about holidays. I sure do need one. Anyway, back to this tasty banana-y smoothie with that gorgeous flavour of citrus plus throwing that smooth and velvety vanilla ice-cream into the mix to deliver to you the most interesting smoothie on a hot day. What’s there not to love, eh?

WHAT YOU NEED

1 1/2 – 2 oranges, squeezed

5 medium bananas, chilled and chopped

3-4 scoops of vanilla ice cream

A good splash of milk

WHAT TO DO

Put the squeezed oranges, milk, ice cream and chopped bananas into a clean blender. Blend for about 20-25 seconds. Pour into cups or jar-cup {like mine:)} and serve.

Can it get any easier than that? Give this recipe a go and let me know how it went done.
