Elegant Almond Tuiles

Also known as tuilles. These wafers are dainty. They are scrumptious. They are pretty. They are crispy. They are delectable. They are just one more word, oh so delicious! Okay, I know that was more than one word. I just couldn’t resist adding the ‘oh so’ :). These lovelies originate from France and does that surprise me at all? This wonderful nation is known for all kinds of elegant pastries, sweets, and desserts. So if I were to mark these tiles, which is what tuiles mean, they passed with top marks on elegance, richness, sweetness, and crispiness. I thought I won’t have any photos to show you as my husband was so taken to these wafers, they rapidly disappeared from the plate 🙂

Gentleman’s Suit Cake Pictures

I made this gorgeous cake last week and I truly enjoyed every moment of decorating it. It is a two tier cake made up of a chocolate square cake under and a vanilla round cake on top. Yesterday, I was busy crafting my birthday cake which was a fun time for me and my family. I had an idea of what the inside was going to look like because I was inspired by a cake made by Yolanda Gampp of How to Cake It. It is a checkerboard cake made of pink, green and yellow vanilla cakes. However, I wasn’t so sure of what the outside was to look like except I wanted it to have a mixture of the same colours I used inside the cake. After a bit of time thinking and imagining, here is what I came up with. A marbled cascading petals fondant cake with checkerboard layers inside.

Homemade Dinner Bread Rolls

Dinner rolls. Does that mean they can only be eaten for dinner? Hmmm, well we actually ate these on a nice Saturday morning. So, why are they called dinner rolls and not breakfast rolls? I don’t know exactly but call them whatever you like and eat them whenever you like. All that matter is that they are oh so soft, delicious and not too difficult to make :). I hope you enjoy them as much as we did.
