God’s Plan vs. Our Plans!

One thing I have learned over time as a Christian is never to look back and regret where I am now based on where I’m coming from. This feeling of regret often set in when we believe we should have achieved more than we have already accomplished.

Heart of Worship | Matt Redman

This song has for many years have a way of helping me to remember why I gave my life to Christ in the first place. Why you may ask? Because I love God and everything about Him. His love has changed me and has made me who I am today and even more, His love brings out the best of me and helps me look at life from a great perspective. Most of the things we offer Him are not what He requires. All He wants is for our hearts to worship Him. My heart. Your heart!

Heading back to what matters!

Very lately, I have been so busy with juggling my job with maternal and wifely duties topped with building a business that I believe that my relationship with God has not been at a place where I would want it to be. Prayer time has become rushed, taking the time to study God’s Word has become a rarity and please don’t even mention a nice quiet time with my loving Father. Our everyday lives are so boxed with too many things on our ‘to-do’ list, many errands to run, many meetings to attend, many goals to accomplish, kids to take care of, business that requires your attention to grow, career that needs you to fly, family that needs you to be an active and not a passive part of their lives and the list is inevitably endless. Now, most of these things are not in themselves bad or sinful, in fact, most if not all of the things we do or pursue to achieve are all good things.

Learn from the Times and Seasons!

Night – Darkness, Day – light. Summer – sunny days, Winter – cold and freezing days.

No, I’m not about to write on words and opposites but something very important about times and seasons. Seasons exist to teach us something. They are there as a reminder that change is ever constant. Nothing will remain as it is forever. Well, except God. Every season has its own significance and what it represents. Summer will ever be known for lovely sunny weather, ice creams and longer days. However, winter is just the exact opposite except you like eating ice cream whatever the season :). Continue reading

Count Your Blessings | Sebastian Demrey & Jimmy Lahaie

I remember singing this hymn as a teenager with very few ‘cares’ and perhaps not really relating to the lyrics as I do now. With so many issues of life staring at us in the face, it is very easy to complain, worry and become hopeless. However, we must remind ourselves constantly that we do have many things to be thankful for. What you have in abundance is someone’s miracle!

Count Your Blessings!

When you are tempted to groan in complaint,

Count your blessings.

When you think you should be farther in life than you are,

Count your blessings.

When it seems what you have is small compared to your neighbour’s,

Count your blessings.

When life’s expectations are not met by your standards,

Count your blessings.

When you are surmounted with the cares of this world,

Count your blessings.

When what tomorrow holds fill your mind with worry,

Count your blessings.

Yes, if you can name your blessings,

Go ahead and name them.

Some people don’t have what you have,

What you have is their own answer to prayers,

That’s why you have to count your blessings.
