It’s been a long time…
Hello everyone,
It has really been a long time since I last posted and I must say that I have missed being on my page posting educational articles and inspirational lines as well as interacting with everyone who stops by to view my blog. To answer your question of where I’ve been all this while. Well, I have been very busy with our latest addition to the family who joined us over 6 months ago. He’s getting bigger and bigger as the months roll by and sometimes, I wonder where the time has gone since I can still vividly remember his arrival to the world.
Now that I think my son and I have come to some kind of agreement as to how we both manage our time (him mostly using his for eating and sleeping), I believe it is high time I got back to blogging and I intend to start by completing the series on Dealing with PCOS: My Journey to Motherhood.
I would be giving the topic of Natural Fertility a lot more focus in the coming weeks and months as I believe a lot of people are searching for answers and support as they try to conceive.
Of course, there would still be some inspirational lines that I would keep posting as what is life without inspiration to achieve and I firmly believe these would be relevant for both those who are TTC and those who are not.
The long and short of this ‘homecoming’ post is that I’M BACK and I missed you all! So please, look forward to the coming posts from Open Pleasures.
Stay tuned!
Sleep Tight, Dear Dad!
It feels like ages since I last published my last post however it’s exactly 2 weeks now that my Dad passed onto glory. It came as a complete rude shock and it was indeed the last information I was expecting to receive on that fateful morning. I cried my eyes out and didn’t speak to anyone even my husband for hours. I just basically went into a form of shock, trying to get my head around what I was just told. For me, this means I don’t have any parent anymore and this only intensified the grief at that point.
WHY I DO WHAT I DO!
Starting a blog was the farthest thing on my mind at the start of this year, there were other things that seem to be more interesting to me to pursue like starting a cake business, change jobs and have another baby (perhaps not in that particular order)! Anyway, it wasn’t until my dear husband said to me you’ve got too much stuff (information and experience) to keep to yourself before I realised that there are other things that I should pursue, one of which is starting a blog. Therein lies the birth of this platform.
The next thing was choosing a name for my blog. Oh, what a time I had weighing and discarding all kinds of names until I asked myself a question that “what was I looking to share with everyone out there?” Then, the answer came to me – things I take pleasure in and express myself through. It’s got to be something with PLEASURES in it, then the words OPEN PLEASURES struck me and I said YES, I’VE GOT IT!
Open pleasures? Why open, when all we know are secret pleasures? Well, for me all the above sections are pleasures I thoroughly enjoy in the open and I’m proud to share articles on. So, get ready as we explore my world and I look forward to you sharing some of your pleasures with me.
The first thing I would like to share with you is a little about myself. I am a Christian who loves God and have a relationship with Him, I am a wife to a loving husband, a woman that I’ve gone through fertility challenges and overcame (more to come on that) which makes me a mother to my beautiful daughter and another on the way! I am a lawyer by schooling and training and a banker as of now. I am a woman who loves to bake and decorate cakes (watch out for how it all started), cooking, crocheting and loom knitting. I also love reading Christian fiction and I know I would be sharing some of the ones that have reassured and spurred me with you and I so love to sing and listen to Christian Music.
So, there you have it. A little about myself.
For everything I have done or currently involved with, I like to ask myself why am I doing what I’m doing? For this blog, I’m doing it to share recipes, patterns, life experiences, lessons learnt, blessed and inspired words but most of all, I’m doing it to INSPIRE someone out there.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING NOW? DO YOU KNOW WHY YOU ARE DOING WHAT YOU’RE DOING?
