The word ‘unique’ means being the only one of its kind; unlike anything else. Guess that’s something to celebrate. If your uniqueness cannot be rivaled by anyone else’s then you know that you are the best there is. So many people may be so good in a particular job or line of duty or industry but only you can do that job the only way you can (get it) :).
Some weeks back, I was helping my daughter put together a jigsaw puzzle and oh man, it took longer than I expected cos I thought how hard can it be to put these ‘simple’ puzzles together.
Well, it definitely was not simple. Just a look at the pieces individually got me thinking where to start from {this was me feigning confidence before a 3-year-old and bracing for the challenge, especially when they think you know all things 🙂 }. So, like any other way of putting things together, we started matching what could be with what should be. We got there in the end and those single puzzles that on their own made no sense and were of no value at all, joined up with others to make sense and made a picture we could all stand back and admire.
Recently, I was thinking about my business and how best I should deal with the many competitions around me and the things that I need to understand and take along with me on this journey of making my business a success. The points below are what I came up with which I think will help me in months and years to come in having a successful business. So, I thought to share these with anyone who may be dealing with competition in an industry or workplace.
One thing I have learned over time as a Christian is never to look back and regret where I am now based on where I’m coming from. This feeling of regret often set in when we believe we should have achieved more than we have already accomplished.
I recently came across the photo below where someone was using a pair of trainers to perform ballet in the midst of other ballerinas using ballet pumps. I literally fell in love with this photo and just wondered who this genius could be. What really got me intrigued is the fact that someone dared to be different. This person did not allow what she didn’t have to stop her from becoming what she wants to be or do what she wants to do. Even more importantly, she didn’t allow people’s criticisms to stop her from being who she is.
A few weeks ago, I saw a TV programme about a well known holiday destination – Hawaii. If you are anything like me, this is a place that has made it to one of my ‘must visit’ state. Whenever I see a postcard or an advert or a magazine with the breathtaking beach views on them, I just marvel at how beautiful the place must be and how truly amazing it will be to live in such a place.
Night – Darkness, Day – light. Summer – sunny days, Winter – cold and freezing days.
No, I’m not about to write on words and opposites but something very important about times and seasons. Seasons exist to teach us something. They are there as a reminder that change is ever constant. Nothing will remain as it is forever. Well, except God. Every season has its own significance and what it represents. Summer will ever be known for lovely sunny weather, ice creams and longer days. However, winter is just the exact opposite except you like eating ice cream whatever the season :). Continue reading
