When life’s cares like a storm want to drown you, choose to hold on to God’s anchor. Be still and know that God is there to still the storm and see you safely to shore. He promised He will never leave you nor forsake you and you have to believe just that to overcome. Here is a song to encourage you to cast all your cares upon God. Give It Up!
Many things come right at us in the form of worries every single day. Waking up late on a Monday morning has the power to set our hearts to worry if we would be able to catch our ‘regular’ bus or train to work and if you don’t use the public commute, you worry if you can still make it in time with the ‘regular’ traffic on your way. If only that can set our hearts in ‘worry mode’, then how about if you or your child has to be on a waiting list for school or waiting for an interview feedback for a dream job, not to talk of when we are faced with financial, emotional, relationship or health issues.
Talking with my Father…
Some people believe prayer should be at a certain time or in a certain place or even in a certain position. It’s been conceived to be a time when you ask God for only certain things. This reminds me of a joke which tells of a father asking his son to pray before going to bed and the son asked for his lost ball to be found but his dad stopped him and said ‘Son, you need to ask God for more serious things, we don’t want to waste His time’. Really! Like, how can it be heard that I was ‘talking’ to God to help me shift my postnatal weight? Of course, that would sound absolutely ridiculous to some but to me, that’s the way I talk to my Father. On the 18th day of December 2013, my water broke and I called the Labour Ward to know if I should make my way down to the hospital, after some few questions I was asked to come down. So, my husband and I packed my hospital bag and excitedly went down to the hospital in preparation for the delivery of our gorgeous baby.

Sleep Tight, Dear Dad!
It feels like ages since I last published my last post however it’s exactly 2 weeks now that my Dad passed onto glory. It came as a complete rude shock and it was indeed the last information I was expecting to receive on that fateful morning. I cried my eyes out and didn’t speak to anyone even my husband for hours. I just basically went into a form of shock, trying to get my head around what I was just told. For me, this means I don’t have any parent anymore and this only intensified the grief at that point.

We all face challenges in life and just as our faces are different so also our issues differ from one another. Whilst to the rich, financial issues are no problem at all, it is the greatest challenge to a poor man. A student trying to pass a course to graduate may have challenges comprehending the course, but his lecturer has no such issue except the workload that is causing marital strains. Though both present in the same classroom, different woes beset them.
I have come to realise that to every stage of life, there exists a challenge. However, don’t let the issue beat you, make sure you beat it.
It’s never worth it to give up. It takes nothing to give up but it takes strength and courage to persevere to reach the goal.
I dedicate this song to everyone out there passing through a challenge, including myself. Don’t give up, don’t give in cos God has not brought you this far to leave you or hang you out to dry.

It is so interesting to know that when God gave us salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ as well as His gifts through the Holy Spirit, He gave us a full report of what they represent and would produce in our lives. This brings to mind a manufacturer’s manual.
